How To French Press Coffee
For the french press, coffee should be coarsely ground so as not to clog the plunger or make a bitter cup of coffee.
- Put your desired amount of water on the stove to heat. Keep an eye on the water, you want to remove it from the heat just before it reaches its boiling temperature.
- Put the amount of coffee (2 tablespoons per 6 ounces of water) you would like in the glass carafe of the press (You can do this while your water is heating).
- When the water is hot (Small bubbles rising- almost at a boil), pour into the carafe over the coffee grounds. Give it a quick stir to be sure that all of the grounds are wet.
- Place the plunger on top of the carafe with the plunger still up.
- Let it sit for 3-4 minutes.
- WWith just a slight amount of pressure, slowly press the plunger down to the bottom of the carafe, trapping the grounds at the bottom.
- Serve and enjoy!
