How To Brew Toddy Coffee
For brewing with a Toddy you will need 1 lb. of coarsely ground coffee.
(Your Toddy was made to hold one pound of coffee and 9 cups of cold
water.)
- Pour 1 cup of water into the Toddy.
- Add 1/2 of the 1 lb. of coffee.
- Slowly pour about 4 cups of water over the coffee
grounds. Take your time and be sure to get all of the grounds
wet, you don't want to have any dry spots.
- Add the rest of your coffee.
- Slowly pour 3 cups of water into the Toddy, again making
sure to wet all of the coffee grounds. At this point, you should have
only added 8 cups of water.
- Wait five minutes, and add the last cup of water.
- DO NOT stir the coffee in the Toddy. If you must, you can
use a spoon to lightly tap on the grounds at the top to be sure they
are wet.
- Let your Toddy brew for 10-14 hours.
- Finally, drain the toddy into an airtight container (large
glass jars work well) and you're done!
